Becoming an English teacher was a goal I have had since being a little girl! Over the years, I have also become very interested in both the study and the teaching of other languages particularly Asian languages. In 1999 I moved to Sri Lanka with my husband and lived on that beautiful island for almost eight years. We became fluent in Tamil and proficient in the Singhalese language.

Since returning to England, I have turned my attention to the English language and have gone on to train as an English teacher at Harrow College. I have also been involved in teaching two Tamil Beginners’ courses.

Needless to say, I love curry and hot weather and can fully sympathize with students who find the cold weather in England a challenge! Not only that, I know what it is like to live abroad, experience culture shock and experience the joys and frustrations of learning a new language.

I have been working at WLBC for over a year now and thoroughly enjoy getting to know students from all over the world. Seeing them progress from simply being able to say a few words in English to being able to hold much longer conversations is extremely rewarding.
